Forecast didn't arrive early morning but kept watching whats app forum for positive news. Went to gym with trailer just in case but couldn't find a poxy parking space after going round 3 x. Then great news wind at Bradfield, so hammered the 30mls or so. Thankfully the farmers field is now accessible by car and on arrival there was wind with 2 going out slightly under. Rigged my flat water sail GA Phantom 9.2 hooked to Patrik 145 Freeride. That's my go to gear in light winds. Everyone turned up rigging big.
Water was flat - sun out wind prob F4 launched off and was in footstraps on first runs. The Patrik always need pumping up on the plane which is a pain in the rear. Had a great day buzzing up and down. Andy M done me a couple of times planning thru lulls but the Patrik does carry heavy me quite well in light winds albeit pretty slow. Had 3 or 4 runs down to Wrabness and back towards Mistley.
We were heavily reliant on gusts, pumping to keep planning. Colsey was going great on his foil - but still not tempted. He had a big rig and I think there is only 3 knots or so when he starts and we do.
Had to set the gaastra with very little downhaul to make it work making it very heavy. Ran aground and smashed yet another North shoxs I Tendon bracket. Come on North or Duo whatever, you must make them stronger. We do catapult in windsurfing! The kit should be strong enough.
Still thinking about a JP Super Light Weight 165 for lightwind and flat water at Bradfield, but the 145 Patrik does a good job with the Phantom. Great time, with plenty of wind to come.
